Who maintains the C++ language?

Visual Basic is maintained by Microsoft, ActionScript by Macromedia(Adobe?), Python by Aguido ***. Is there anyone maintaining C++? How about the other languages like HTML, BASIC

Who maintains the C++ language?
C++ is first of all a standard, and it is mantained by the

"ISO/IEC JTC1/SC22/WG21 C++ Standards Committee"; the current standard is "ISO/IEC 14882", written in 1998 and updated in 2003; the next standard is codenamed "C++0x" and will be probably released in 2009.

The actual compilers are instead mantained by the vendors.

This is different from languages such as ActionScript and Visual Basic, for which the same entity is at the same time the standard committee and the only implementor.

For HTML, SVG, XHTML and a lot of other languages the mantainer is "World Wide Web Consortium", also called "W3C", and all its working groups.

The actual rendering engines are mantained by vendors, such as Microsoft, Mozilla Foundation or Gecko. Actually W3C itself also provide some little programs which can be seen as the reference for rendering behaviours.

Hope this will help you! Bye!
Reply:I thought C++ was by microsoft? Not sure about html or basic.
